We recently came to Zihuatenajo on a cruise ship, and were privileged to be able to use the services of Jose' Angel Loesa Leyva as our tour guide.  We made the unusual request of Mr. Loesa Leyva to take us to Lazaro Cardenas to attempt to view and photograph a rare naval vessel that is berthed in the port there, and then take us back to Zihuatenejo in time to board our cruise ship prior to its leaving.  Since, as Mr. Loesa Leyva informed us from the very start of our planning for this trip that it was by no means certain, and might even be quite unlikely, that we would even be able to gain access to the port, let along see the ship, successfully undertaking this excursion under the very limited time constraints would take an exceptional guide.

Mr. Loesa Leyva was up to the task.  Because of his extraordinary skills, not the least of which was his great ability to translate flawlessly between Spanish and English, not only were we able to gain access to the Port in Lazaro Cardenas, and view and photograph the ship, we were able to return to Zihuatenejo in plenty of time to re-board our cruise ship. In addition, we were also treated to a very interesting and comprehensive tour of that part of the State of Guerrero between Lazaro Cardenas and Ixtapa, and of Ixtapa itself.

We also learned that Mr. Loesa Leyva, as well as an associate of his, each had driven to Lazaro Cardenas previous to our arrival, to familiarize themselves with Lazaro Cardenas and its port, and to determine the likelihood of the success of our planned endeavor.  It has been my experience that this kind of professionalism and dedication is rare, and I cannot tell you how much we appreciated Mr. Loesa Leyva's additional efforts on our behalf.

Even though our cruise lasted eight days and visited three ports of call in Mexico, the only reason for our trip was to see and photograph this particular Naval vessel in Lazaro Cardenas.  It is entirely because of the professionalism and dedication of Mr. Loesa Leyva that our trip was a great success, well beyond what we had expected.

It reflects well, and is to your credit, that you have Mr. Loesa Leyva working with you.  If all of the tour guides associated with you are of his caliber, you have an outstanding organization.  Because of Mr. Loesa Leyva's excellent job, I would not hesitate to recommend your services to anyone coming to Ixtapa/Zihuatenejo, and will do so at every opportunity.  If we ever have the privilege of returning to your fine city, I will again engage Mr. Loesa Leyva as our guide.  It was an extreme pleasure to work with him.

My father, sister and I have recently returned from a Carnival cruise. Our trip was good.  I must say our expectations for a tour guide after what we had experienced in Acapulco, was, let's just say...we didn't expect much. 
 
Being our first cruise, we were a little confused about ship time vs. Ixtapa time. We were also a little shocked about the prices of the ship's tours! Ouch! So, being the resourceful, A type personality I am I thought there is no way we are paying those prices and I know I can find a better deal out there. 
 
I will start at the beginning. Literally on my way out the door to the airport. I had a feeling about a website I viewed the night before and decided to go for it. So, I run to my computer, grab the phone and proceed to make a 5:30 am phone call to the toll free # listed. A very nice and I must say accommodating (for being 5:30 am) gentleman answered the phone, explains the tours and prices.  I decide to go for it. I gave him my name and left it at that.  In my head I wondered what are the chances this will really happen?
 
So, now we are pulling into Zihuatanejo. With all the confusion over time, and by the time we got our number for a tender ride, I figured there was no way this guy would be waiting for us.   As we made our way off the tender and down the dock to my surprise there was a very nicely dressed gentleman holding a sign with my name nicely printed on it.  His name was Jose'. He directed us to a very clean and beautiful suv. This car was really comfortable and the a/c was icy. From the moment we stepped into the suv our tour guide Jose' took over. He was well dressed and educated.  He exceeded our expectations. His knowledge of the area and Mexico in general was rather impressive. We were very comfortable with him.  We had decided not to do one of the 2 tours we initially booked(I am recovering from a broken back and my father just was not comfortable with me zip lining....hehe but why dad;), Jose' was especially accommodating with this request and re-routed us to a amazing day! He showed us everything! This day by far was our favorite thanks to a fabulous employee you have named Jose' Angel.  As a matter of fact we are looking into booking a week stay at the Melia Azul and this time we are bringing our entire family.  So, Thank you again Jose'!
You are a wonderful tour guide!  We look forward to another day or two with our new amigo!   We believe Jose' is one of those rare employees that really loves what he is doing. We all feel comfortable saying he deserves a raise or a bonus!  We will refer your company and Jose' anytime.  We will see you soon!

We spent a day with Angel last friday touring Ixtapa and Zihuatenejo.  My husband Bob and I wanted you to know how much we enjoyed the day.  The tour guide can make or break our impression of any given port, and we have great impressions of your area! 
 
Angel was knowledgable; told us many interesting facts about the things we were seeing.  He was courteous and  accomodating, showing us things that we asked about.   We liked that we could easily communicate, as his english is good, and that he took us to see the places that show the culture as it is. 
 
We wish Angel much success in this business and will recommend him to anyone of our friends going into the area, and your company, also.  The vehicle was the nicest and cleanest we were in while in Mexico.

I want to thank you for picking me up at the hotel Sunday and Monday morning .That was a very big help. Also I want to tell you how much I enjoyed fishing with Ruben and Simon. It meant a lot to me that they released the Sailfish we caught Sunday. It was great catching Dorado Monday and the ceviche Simon made on the boat was wonderful. I will see you again soon.

Just wanted to let you know how much Dee and I enjoyed our fishing trip on IlucionII.
Ervin the captain, and mates Jimmy and Miguel were great. Dee caught two Bonito and she and I each caught a large sailfish. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good fishing trip. Jimmy was very helpful with my wife fighting the sailfish. They are incredibly strong and he helped her so that it did not break off.

I want to thank you for your services yesterday(Friday Jan.30/09), especially booking us on such short notice.The captain that you provided for us was very professional and got the job done. We caught two good sized sailfish, released one and one was un releasable. I have caught sailfish, blue marlin , tuna etc.here and Costa Rica and in various other countries but my friend that came down for a week has only caught one tuna on several deep sea fishing trips at other Mexican resorts, He was thrilled to catch his first sailfish, and now has photos that will last forever. thanks again.   Dave

Just a note to thank you and Adrian for the best tour we have had in Mexico. Adrian was great, knowledgeable, informative and showed us all there was to see in the Ixtapa, Zihuatenejo area.... plus the restaurant he took us to for lunch was better than great!!! (Gallabos or something like that...close to the pier...soooo good
We are already planning a return to stay in Ixtapa next November. Thank Adrian for us and we will certainly pass on our good experience to friends and future travelers to your area.

Hola!  I wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time on the tour with Antonio; he is a great tour guide.  We learned so much about the customs and history of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo.  Also, going to the coconut plantation and walking them make the roof tiles was so interesting.  The meal was delicious; thank you again.  I hope we can make it back to Mexico again real soon and maybe take another tour with you.
